Television advertisements have always been a focal point in the advertisement world, its reach, productivity; efficiency and effectiveness have always created outstanding performance. However, eMarketers have come up with the different approach and they believe that digital advertisements are creating niche within the market and thus dominating the world. They predict that by 2020, television advertisement will only accommodate to 21.5% within the advertisement world. While on the other hand, online ads will account to 60% and rule the world.
Although, there is no denying that digital advertisement are dominating the world but the credibility of television advertising cannot be overruled. Marketers, entrepreneurs and advertisers have always gained big through television advertisements. However, advertisement cost is the side-partner that comes along with the benefits of advertisement. They cannot be ignored, as you always have to pay the price for the success. The cost comes within the success package.

1.       ITV
ITV’s Good Morning Britain has the most costly time slot; it costs between 3,000 to 4,000 on average. While, the daytime slot costs 3500 to 4500 while at peak time it can also lead to 10,00 to 30,000. Good morning Britain is a high rated program and thus has guaranteed viewers thus the time slots rates are also higher.
2.       Channel 4
Channel 4 is also one of the most viewed channels of UK but its rates are considerably low as compared to ITV.  The day time advertisement slot on Channel 4 is 1000 to 2000. While during peak hours and especially during its most viewed shows like Hollyoaks or Catastrophe, the rates reach to 10,000 to 20,000.
3.       Channel 5
Channel 5 is a cheaper channel as compared to others. Thus promoting your brand or targeting your customers through is channel is relatively easier. The day time advertisement slot of channel 5 is 800 to 1600. While, at peak rates during famous shows like Neighbors and Big Brothers the estimated cost can reach between 2500 to 4500. Channel 5 is considered a good rated channel but with a considerable cheaper advertisement package.
4.       Sky 1
Sky 1 is known for “The Simpsons” ; this is an old but has a heavy traffic and audience, Moreover, due to its credibility this program has international viewers. The 30 second slot estimated cost during the break in Simpsons is between 650 to 1150. While day time slots of Sky 1 costs breaks during programs like Stargate and Atlantis is 150 to 250.
5.       Sky Sports
Sky Sports is the most wanted sports channel and thus attracts large audience. A 30 second time slot at peak time is between 60 to 750. It depends on which sports game is been streamed live. While daytime advertisement slot falls between 10 to 50. Euro sport rates and BT sport rates are considerably cheaper than sky sports. However, marketers do not entirely focus on one channel but instead they set up a portfolio and exhibit its advertisement on various channels.

There is a long list of UK television channels, but to cut things short, this was the detail of the most watched channels and most demanded slots within the UK market. There are also other digital channels that have cheaper time slots. Big brands approach big and thus they want to focus on the most popular channels and also during high peak hours.
